So I took my 2001 Ford Excursion to another shop close to base to replace the power steering gear and after picking up the truck it lost steering while driving in a parking lot. I had my truck towed to Performance Truck and Auto based on the recommendation of a friend and they were able to sort out the issue no problem. Turns out the part that was installed by the other shop was incorrect. They helped me get the part swapped out for the correct one by giving me all the info I needed. This is going to be my go to auto repair shop from now on. They have a really nice waiting area and a courtesy shuttle. Their labor rate is not the cheapest in town but it is also not the most expensive and clearly you get what you pay for. - James K (5 star review found on Yelp)
Took my Jeep there after being utterly disappointed with the local dealership. Zach handled my after-market warranty, the repair was thorough, quick, and professional. Great to see local a business that takes care of people--I will be back! - Kyle R (5 star review found on Yelp)
My truck broke down while I was in Montgomery, 3 hours away from home...along with my horse trailer and horse! I found Performance on Yelp with good reviews and gave them a call for a quote and details. Lawrence was very helpful on the phone and his quote was below the average online price I found for my repair, so I had my truck towed out to them sight unseen (which was a little scary to send my truck to an unknown mechanic) while my hubby came to rescue me and my horse. I was fearful for no reason. The repair was completed in one day and the final price came in under the estimate which was much appreciated! I had great communication with Lawrence throughout the day. When I picked up my truck the day after that the service was again excellent and I drove off happy with my experience. Story not over - I broke down just a few miles down the road with a completely unrelated problem. I limped back to the shop and they came out immediately to test drive and troubleshoot my new problem. Thankfully it was a quick fix and they took it right back, fixed my issue and sent me off with no additional charge for their time. I drove the three hours home with no problems after that. Brandon (mechanic) and Lawrence (at the front desk) made a couple of awful experiences much more bearable. I'm from out of town, but if they were close to me they would definitely be my new go-to shop. Great experience with these guys from start to finish. I can't recommend them enough. - Lorie D (5 star review found on Yelp)
Our company deals with Performance on every fleet vehicle we have, every time we can. I personally use them as well. Very courteous and knowledgable group! Great service, great prices, very trustworthy and just always a good all around experience. Thanks guys! - Abe B (5 star review found on Yelp)
Don’t you hate it when potholes sneak up on you? There is a lot of money being spent on vehicle damage due to potholes. Do you know what parts of your car could receive the most damage.
Sometimes it is EASY to see if your car or truck needs to come into our shop for professional repairs!
1. You see steam rising from the engine!
2. The Check Engine Light is on!
3. The engine starts, but there is an odor that is not right.
4. You hear grinding or thumping noises.
Here at Performance Auto Repair in Montgomery we often do diagnostics and sometimes the problem is obvious after hooking the car up to the computer and reading the codes. However, sometimes it isn't obvious during a test drive or after hooking it up to all those computer programs! You know there is a problem and a Check Engine Light is on with the fleet customer telling you the car has been having issues starting and the light has been going off and on depending on several factors. No pattern, no simple answer but the problem becomes obvious when you start following the "threads of the issue" thanks to all that ASE Technician training.
Newer Vehicles Generate as Much As 25GB of Data/Hour according to McKinsey. Now That is Extremely Interesting! It is also daunting as we now need to know "what data" right? You also want to know where it is going if anywhere and who owns the data? All interesting questions that we never thought about. Just get in and drive, choose a destination and if a light goes off in the dash you call us here at Performance Auto Repair to schedule an appointment. We want our Montgomery drivers to be informed as always and able to make their choices based on having facts. This is a big change in the automotive-truck service industry and it really has not hit the news at all, so it is up to us to get you up-to-date and informed. Here are the facts and where you can find more information!
